Summary
Assists in leading a Landscape Maintenance team in residential and commercial property clean ups and improvements to existing lawns and gardens, including mowing, trimming, planting bed maintenance, and shrub and tree care.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist Landscape Maintenance Foreman when on site to ensure efficiency in spring and fall cleanups, mulching and edging of plant beds, lawn mowing and weed whacking, trimming and fine gardening.
- Able to work independently to lead a crew in mowing, trimming, and edging.
- Assist Landscape Maintenance Foreman with maintenance scheduling, reviewing scope of work for the property in advance, and determining equipment and materials required for each site.
- Able to complete set tasks for the day in allotted time.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of plant species identification and knowledge of plant varieties.
- Thorough understanding of hand tools and machine operation, including lawn mowers, leaf vacs, bark blowers, and leaf blowers.
- Possess strong leadership and communication skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with Landscape Maintenance Foreman, Account Manager, and customers.
- Possess strong organizational skills, able to fill out and track daily foreman logs, job sheets, and timecards.
- The ability to keep crews on task and manage production, while still maintaining a high level of quality work is essential.
Education and Experience/Licenses:
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of landscape experience
- Valid driver’s license
- DOT Certificate (acquired within one month after date of hire)
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to physically operate landscape hand tools, machines, and equipment.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and stand.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather, including extremely hot and extremely cold temperatures.
- Must be able to lift to 75 pounds.
