About the Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team as a Wound Care Treatment Nurse. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standard of wound assessment, prevention, and treatment for our residents. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in wound care management, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to resident-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive wound assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing wound care to residents.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nursing staff, dietitians, and therapy services, to ensure optimal healing and outcomes.
Accurately document assessments, treatments, progress notes, and resident responses in accordance with facility, state, and federal guidelines.
Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate clinical leaders.
Participate in skin audits, pressure injury prevention programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
Educate staff on wound care practices, infection control procedures, and preventive measures.
Maintain knowledge of current wound care best practices, products, and evidence-based treatments.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
Previous wound care experience preferred; Wound Care Certification (WCC, CWON, or similar) is highly desirable.
Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities.
