This is a contract role starting September 14, 2026, with an initial assignment through October 1, 2026 and the option to extend.
Brief Role Summary
In this role, you’ll lead a structured, supportive classroom environment for students whose emotional and behavioral needs require targeted interventions to access learning. You’ll collaborate closely with the school team to implement consistent routines, evidence-based behavior supports, and skill-building strategies that help students regulate, engage, and grow academically and socially.
Position Details:
- Role: Special Education Teacher (Behavior Support Classroom)

- Grade levels: 3–5
- Schedule: 8:20 AM – 3:40 PM
- Hours/week: 37.5
- Initial assignment through: October 1, 2026 (with option to extend)
Responsibilities:
- Provide special education instruction and classroom leadership in a structured behavior-support environment.
- Implement classroom systems that promote regulation, safety, and readiness to learn, including routines, expectations, reinforcement, and de-escalation supports.
- Use evidence-based approaches, often aligned to frameworks like PBIS, to support student behavior and social skills development.
- Collaborate with school staff to align behavior plans, classroom strategies, and student progress monitoring.
- Communicate proactively with the team regarding student needs, progress, and escalation patterns to support continuity of care.
Qualifications:
- Special education teaching experience with students who have emotional and/or behavioral needs.
- Comfort teaching in a highly structured setting with consistent routines and behavior supports.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with school-based teams.
