Special Education Teachers provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, helping them achieve academic, social, and behavioral success. This role is essential in fostering an inclusive learning environment and ensuring students receive the accommodations and services outlined in their IEPs.
Position Details:
Start Date: September 9, 2026
End Date: June 8, 2027
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours weekly
Grade Levels: Middle School
Location: In Person
School Year: 2026/2027
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student assessments and needs
• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with state standards and student goals
• Modify curriculum, assignments, and assessments to accommodate diverse learners
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student success
• Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities
• Implement behavior management strategies and support plans as needed
• Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Valid Massachusetts Special Education Teaching Certification
• Knowledge of IEP development, IDEA regulations, and special education compliance requirements
• Experience working with middle school students with varying disabilities
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
