Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented General Manager to lead the daily operations of our travel plaza. This role involves overseeing staff management, customer service excellence, inventory control, and operational efficiency to ensure a seamless experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a passion for hospitality and retail management.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the retail sales team, ensuring high levels of customer service and sales performance
- Manage daily store operations including cashiering, POS systems, inventory management, and merchandising
- Oversee purchasing, stock replenishment, pricing strategies, and inventory control to maximize profitability
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop staff members to foster a motivated and skilled team
- Handle employee orientation, payroll processing, cash handling, and bookkeeping tasks with accuracy
- Implement operational procedures aligned with company standards and safety regulations
- Monitor sales metrics and manage shift schedules to optimize store performance and customer satisfaction
Experience
- Proven management experience in retail or hospitality environments with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of POS systems, inventory management software, and retail math principles
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and managerial skills with the ability to lead diverse teams
- Experience in recruiting, training & development, and employee orientation processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, perform basic bookkeeping tasks, and handle cash operations accurately
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Prior experience in retail industry sales team management or retail store product knowledge is preferred
