What are the responsibilities and job description for the Diagnostic Tech Supervisor (72240) position at ONSLOW MEMORIAL HOSPITAL?
Working under the supervision of the Laboratory Administrative Director and/or Assistant Laboratory Director, the Diagnostic Technician Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of operations that occur as part of Onslow Diagnostics Outpatient Services. The Outpatient Services include patient registration, specimen drop off, accurate test ordering, community courier services for specimen pick up and supply delivery, pre-op screening processes, as well as Point of Service Cash Collection processes for patients. Onslow Diagnostics Supervisor is also responsible for functions related to personnel, such as scheduling, creating training schedules, participating in interview related processes, as well as resolving any issues or conflicts among staff members and making Lab Admin aware of the issues that exist and the potential resolution. This is a working supervisor position that is required to perform all the functions of a Diagnostic Technician. Compiles monthly outpatient data for submission to Lab administration. Responsible for inventory ordering, control, and maintenance. Maintains and reviews section manual as required by accrediting agency. Works with Patient Financial Services to ensure accurate registration processes and works to assist in resolving any issues that are found. This Supervisor acts as liaison to the community medical offices as needed.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an approved phlebotomy course.
Current BLS certification.
Valid driver’s license with no history of DWI conviction within the past 5 years or moving traffic violation for 3 years.
Experience:
Two years’ experience as a phlebotomist (in a hospital setting preferred).
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
