The Training Support Specialist performs intermediate skilled administrative support work performing a variety of administrative tasks involving information management systems, data analytics and reporting, and training support to the Human Resources department, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Organizational Development Manager.

- Serve as the primary administrator for the County's Learning Management System, ensuring accurate and efficient operation of training and development programs.
- Serve as the primary administrator for the County's Performance Management System.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring reports, dashboards, and workforce development metrics.
- Analyze learning and performance management data to identify trends, gaps, completion rates, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct routine audits to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of system data.
- Provides logistical support for organizational development programs and employee initiatives.
- Provides County wide communication of Organizational Development programs to include participant registrations, reminders, and support.
- Develop and distribute promotional materials, announcements, newsletters, and literature supporting employee development initiatives.
- Coordinates and prepares training facilities and learning environments for department programs, ensuring meeting spaces, technology, training materials, seating configurations, and participant resources are properly arranged to support effective and engaging learning experiences.
- Identify opportunities to improve system functionality, automate administrative processes, and enhance the employee experience through technology solutions.
- Stay current on vendor specific system enhancements, updates, and best practices related to learning management and performance management technology.
- Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member, if appointed or volunteers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques; thorough knowledge of business concepts, spelling and arithmetic; thorough knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices; General knowledge of the principals of adult learning, training techniques and practices, and learning management systems; skilled in performance management systems, reporting and communication of data analytics; ability to prepare accurate reports from file sources; ability to perform and organize work independently; ability to prepare effective correspondence independently; ability to operate standard office equipment including personal computer and knowledge of applicable software packages (Excel, Word, Adobe, etc.); ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, internal customers and the general public.
High school diploma or GED and extensive experience in administrative or HR work, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Adult learning and/or HR information management systems experience is preferred.
