Responds to emergency calls and provides emergency medical care in accordance with established guidelines and written verbal instructions from physicians.
Determines extent of illness or injury and establishes priorities for required care.
Transmits vital patient information and telemetry data to receiving medical care facility.
Observes patients in route and administers additional care as needed.
Complies with all employer rules and policies; state, federal, and county laws; EMS system policies and protocols; and state regulations pertaining to prehospital personnel.
Serves as clinical role model and mentor to students, new employees, and current credentialed employees.
Provides both didactic and psychomotor instruction to ensure clinical and operational competency in accordance with Onslow County-Camp Lejeune EMS System and Onslow County EMS Policy, procedures, and protocol.
Intercede and assume patient care whenever any provider's performance falls below the standard of care or may cause patient harm.
Report to the Quality Assurance Chief and/or Training Chief any clinical deficiencies, incompetency, negligence, or conduct that may, or did, result in patient harm, or that would, or did, have an adverse operational impact on the EMS system.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism for all matters concerning personnel matters, medical care, and quality improvement.
Complete all documentation and evaluations within defined timelines, conduct regular performance meetings, and provide routine feedback to Quality Assurance Chief and Training Chief during the Field Training and Evaluation (FTEP) program.
Participates in the interview process, EMS Academy, and Oral Board Examination process.
Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member.
Performs related tasks as assigned.

Must have ICS 100, 200, 700, 800.
Must be credentialed or be able to successfully earn Drug Assisted Intubation credentials within three (3) months of hire and in good standing with the Medical Director.
Completion of EMS Instructor methodology course within 12 months of hire.
Associates/Technical degree with coursework in emergency medical services or related field preferred.
Valid driver's license.
Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.
Salary : $58,406 - $75,920
