Position Description: The Controller will report to the CFO and is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, effective financial management, and strategic planning that supports informed decision-making and the financial stability of our company. This is a player-coach role that combines strategic leadership with active participation in day-to-day accounting operations. What You'll Do
- Direct the preparation and analysis of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with strategic priorities.
- Partner with the CFO and senior leadership on financial strategy, investment evaluation, and long-range planning to drive informed decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, tax, and regulatory requirements, and lead the external audit process end-to-end.
- Design and maintain a robust internal control environment — including oversight of accounts payable, disbursement approvals, and segregation of duties — to safeguard company assets and the integrity of financial data.
- Oversee cash flow, liquidity, treasury, and enterprise risk management, including debt, insurance, and hedging strategies.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting and finance team, while championing systems and process improvements that scale with the business.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA designation strongly preferred
- 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including prior roles such as Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and taxation
- Proficiency in financial software, with hands-on experience in NetSuite
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance requirements (GAAP, IFRS)
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy is a must
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively across teams and interact with other departments
