Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced I&C Commissioning Engineer to support a hyperscale data center project in Reno, NV. This role is focused on the commissioning, testing, and validation of instrumentation and control systems that support mission-critical operations. This is a highly field-oriented position requiring strong hands-on experience with controls systems, instrumentation, and integrated testing in fast-paced, high-reliability environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute commissioning activities for instrumentation and control systems including BMS, PLCs, control panels, sensors, valves, actuators, and associated field devices
- Develop and execute commissioning scripts, point-to-point testing, loop checks, and functional testing
- Validate control sequences, alarms, trending, and system responses
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to controls integration and device performance
- Coordinate closely with Mechanical and Electrical commissioning teams during integrated systems testing (Level 4 / Level 5)
- Review drawings, control schematics, sequences of operation, and vendor submittals
- Document testing results, deficiencies, and corrective actions; support turnover and closeout documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and client commissioning standards
Requirements
- 6–12 years of experience in I&C commissioning, controls engineering, or automation roles
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation, control systems, and automation platforms (BMS / PLC-based systems)
- Experience in data center, mission-critical, or similar high-reliability environments preferred
- Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working hands-on in the field
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, schedule-driven project environments
- Willingness to be onsite daily; travel or rotational schedules may be required
