We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer III to join our team at ONICON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and testing of various new products under development as well as mechanical improvement for existing products.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer III to join our team at ONICON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the mechanical design and testing of various new products under development as well as mechanical improvement for existing products.
Essential Functions
- Designing and testing mechanical prototypes for electro-mechanical devices including enclosures and flow bodies.
- Creating & updating models, assemblies and detailed drawings.
- Performing structural and fluid flow analysis using FEA/CFD tools.
- Evaluate designs to identify opportunities for simplifying components, substituting materials, and optimizing performance to reduce costs.
- Performing a variety of testing to qualify new mechanical designs.
- Managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)
- Inspecting new parts or designs for compliance with prints or standards
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering Field.
- Minimum skills requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (5 years preferred) in mechanical design.
- 3D design experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
- Experience designing for a variety of metal and plastic fabrication techniques.
- Hands-on experience performing stress and/or fluid flow analysis using FEA/CFD tools.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with electromechanical devices.
- Experience with Product Data Management systems (SolidWorks PDM preferred).
- Solid understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience working with a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working in Agile development environments; Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent) is a plus.

- The employee may be occasionally required to travel nationally to support testing efforts or visit customer sites. Travel may involve overnight stays, air travel and/or driving a personal vehicle.
