What We Offer
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Testing Technician I to join our team at ONICON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the setup, running, data collection, and analysis of tests for validation of electronic systems within ONICON's instrumentation portfolio of Electromagnetic, Ultrasonic, and BTU meters. You will work closely with engineers and contribute to the reliability and performance of ONICON products through rigorous testing and data-driven analysis and report directly to a Lead Engineer. This is an ONSITE position in Largo, FL.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Testing Technician I to join our team at ONICON. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the setup, running, data collection, and analysis of tests for validation of electronic systems within ONICON's instrumentation portfolio of Electromagnetic, Ultrasonic, and BTU meters. You will work closely with engineers and contribute to the reliability and performance of ONICON products through rigorous testing and data-driven analysis and report directly to a Lead Engineer. This is an ONSITE position in Largo, FL.
Essential Functions
- Conduct functional, performance, and qualification testing of electronic systems
- Perform troubleshooting and testing at engineering direction
- Collaborate with the Engineering Team in the development and execution of test plans and procedures
- Document and present test results in a clear, organized, and professional manner.
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure lab safety protocols are followed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum skills requirements:
- 1–2 years of hands-on testing experience in a laboratory or engineering environment.
- Advanced computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Strong documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Preferred Skills:
- Associate’s degree or better in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, or related scientific discipline.
- Experience testing or assembly PCBA’s
- Familiarity with testing equipment such as
- Oscilloscopes
- Digital Power Supplies
- Frequency Counters
- Multimeters
- Experience with environmental testing (e.g., temperature, humidity)
- IPC Specialist certifications

- The employee may be required to travel nationally to attend to assist in or support laboratory testing. Travel may involve overnight stays, air travel and/or driving a personal vehicle.
