Position Summary
The Field-Based Behavior Support Specialist (BSS) delivers direct behavioral interventions to individuals with IDD in home, community, and program settings. Working under the supervision of a Licensed Behavior Specialist (LBS) or case lead, this role implements Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and Crisis Intervention Plans (CIPs) in accordance with ODP standards.
This role plays a key part in promoting client skill development, behavioral stability, and overall independence while ensuring compliance with OneWell and ODP guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
- Model behavioral strategies for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and caregivers.
- Provide hands-on guidance for proper plan implementation.
- Participate in staff training and onboarding related to BSP execution.
- Implement BSPs and CIPs as directed by the LBS or case lead.
- Deliver direct behavioral interventions to promote independence.
- Monitor progress and communicate observed changes to supervisors.
- Advocate for the safety, dignity, and rights of individuals served.
- Collect accurate behavioral data and submit through C2S within ODP timelines.
- Protect confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and ODP standards.
- Submit incident reports promptly and follow escalation procedures.
- Attend supervision meetings and monthly progress reviews.
- Provide on-call and after-hours support as needed.
- Eligible for shift differentials for evening, weekend, or holiday assignments.
- Support program operations with timely documentation and attendance monitoring.
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), or related field;
- Prior experience implementing behavioral interventions and collecting behavioral data.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Reliable transportation and proof of insurance required.
- Must successfully pass PA Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI background checks.
- Familiarity with ODP standards preferred.
- Understanding of ODP behavioral support standards and interventions.
- Clear communication with families, DSPs, and supervisors.
- Ability to mentor DSPs and caregivers in behavioral strategies.
- Person-centered service delivery and respect for dignity.
- Accurate documentation and adherence to ODP timelines.
- Dependability, flexibility, and confidentiality.
- Effective prioritization and scheduling of sessions.
- Rapid and appropriate responses to behavioral crises.
