Job Summary:
Maintain the pharmacy database by updating patients’ information and resolving claims rejected by insurance companies.
Pharmacy Billing Specialist Responsibilities:
- Handle error resolution and process any other other rejections.
- Follow up on hospice billing and past due balances/collections.
- Answer a multi-lined telephone system to ensure customer care on a daily basis.
- Resolve all incoming calls within 48 hours unless there are extenuating circumstances where additional information is needed.
- Take payments over the phone, resolve cycle fill rejections, process claims, collections, and prior authorizations.
- Respond to incoming emails throughout the work day.
- Check Docutrack daily for any tasks assigned by the Billing Manager.
- Perform all duties related to the timely and efficient billing and collection of private insurance receivables for all contracted facility residents.
What You Will Bring:
Our ideal candidate will have 1 year of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
- Pharmacy billing experience (1 to 2 years preferred)
- Pharmacy Technician License
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must have excellent customer service and phone etiquette
- Must work with both speed and accuracy
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office

Shift availability: Alternating opening and closing shifts, as well as rotating weekends.
Work location: Onsite in Troy, MI
