The coordinator will solve operational issues, anticipate potential problems, and apply preventative measures to maintain high safety standards.
Essential Job Functions:

- Support business plan goals; monitor tasks to ensure goals are achieved
- Ensure consistent and professional communication with all levels of OWL management, drivers, customers, and government representatives
- Solve problems and resolve issues and concerns that impact operational performance
- Anticipate potential problems and apply solutions and preventative measures
- Support daily/weekly/monthly Safety and Environmental metrics and reporting
- Serve as an SME for FMCSA Safety Regulations and Compliance
- Participate in driver application reviews including:
- MVR Record Checks
- FMCSA Clearinghouse inquiries
- Coordination of Road Test
- Setting up FMCSA Driver Qualification Files
- Assist in safety incident classification, investigation methodologies, root cause analyses and corrective action development
- Support regulatory and compliance requirements for OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA, C-TPAT, PIP and other government agencies
- Review in-cab event videos to identify poor driver performance. Communicate findings to Operations Management for improvement in driving behavior and safety culture
- Deliver new driver Safety Orientation
- Coordinate with Operations for initial driver training with certified Driver Trainers
- Train drivers to Smith System program (including periodic in-cab instruction/reviews)
- Facilitate Safety training to Associate of all OWL operation levels
- Educate and train drivers on Safety Standards and processes, source outside resources as necessary
- Create/maintain driver training material for any onboard ELD system
- Assist in the implementation of programs designed to achieve zero injuries, accidents and improve safety culture
- Assist in creating/delivering driver safety communications (i.e. safety bulletins, electronic communications, driver safety meeting material)
- Travel to other locations (US or Canada_ when necessary
- Aid in fuel island maintenance and clean-up of environmental spills
