1-Way Diesel Performance is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team.
We are looking for a skilled, dependable technician with strong knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair. Our shop works on a variety of diesel trucks, commercial vehicles, and equipment, so we need someone who can accurately diagnose problems, complete quality repairs, and take pride in their work.
Compensation
Pay starts at $25 per flag hour and can range up to $60 per flag hour based on experience, skill level, productivity, and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative services
- Troubleshoot engine, transmission, electrical, fuel, cooling, and other mechanical issues
- Diagnose and repair brake and air-brake systems
- Perform suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs
- Use diagnostic scanners, testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools
- Inspect vehicles and identify needed repairs or maintenance
- Work on light-duty and heavy-duty diesel trucks and equipment
- Perform HVAC/A/C diagnostics and repairs when qualified
- Communicate needed parts, additional repairs, and job progress with the shop
- Accurately document repairs and work performed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow shop procedures and safety requirements
Requirements
- Previous professional diesel mechanic experience required
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and related systems
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience using diesel/automotive diagnostic equipment
- Ability to complete repairs accurately and efficiently
- Heavy-duty truck or equipment experience is a plus
- Electrical diagnostic experience is a plus
- Welding or fabrication experience is a plus, but not required
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Must also be able to work well as part of a team
- Own tools preferred
- Valid driver's license preferred
