Description
The emergency medical technicians (EMTs) respond to to medical emergencies and deliver patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting.This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. EMTs also help with transporting patients safely between hospitals and care facilities.
Job requirements:
· Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care
· Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment
· Document patient information, condition, and treatment
· Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
· Transport patients in accordance with outined policies and procedures
· Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients
· Operate and drive ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws
· Provide basic life support and gather patient data.
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge:
· Excellent organizational and analytical skills
· Strong sense of professionalism.
· Proficiency in relevant software and technology systems.
· Write simple correspondence or reports
· Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees and/or managers
· Knowledge of company protocols, operational procedures, and safety policies
· Knowledge of methods and techniques for providing on-site emergency medical services
· Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
· Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
· Ability to follow written or verbal step-by-step instructions
· Ability to concentrate, think, and learn
· Ability to hear, see, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications/ Experience
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
· Current EMT certification/license in the state of practice
· Current CPR certification
· Must possess a valid driver's license in the state of practice
· 1 year of experience in an emergency care setting preferred
