What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Estimator - Transmission Line position at One Tech?
One Tech Engineering is searching for a Transmission Line Estimator for a position located in Princeton, Minnesota, or Rapid City, South Dakota. The Transmission Line Estimator will develop cost estimates for projects or services to assist management in the process of bidding or establishing appropriate pricing for products and services.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or Finance, and 3 years of related experience.
Transmission Line Estimator Responsibilities:
- Develop bid hour and bid sheets for estimates on bid projects and change orders for current projects.
- Contact suppliers for pricing.
- Prepare take-offs, staking sheets and budgets.
- Familiarize with bid documents.
- Conduct visits to job sites as needed.
- Inform others within the department of project status and current assignments.
- Assess accurate and efficient estimating techniques.
- Establish and maintain relationships with customers.
- Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Requirements for the Transmission Line Estimator:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 3 years of related experience and/or training
- Experience or training in transmission and distribution (T&D) construction and/or maintenance.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Microsoft Project is preferred.
- Self-starter and motivated to complete assigned tasks.
- Must have a valid drivers license
Salary : $90,000 - $125,000
