Rocky’s Bar & Grill and Raise the Cup Café are dynamic, high-volume concepts located within Fifth Third Arena, serving the Chicago Blackhawks community. The Front of House Supervisor plays a critical role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while supporting efficient, organized, and compliant daily operations across both concepts.
REPORTS TO: General Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
The Front of House Supervisor is a hands-on leader who supports front-of-house operations through active floor presence, coaching, and operational oversight. This role is responsible for maintaining high service standards, ensuring safety and sanitation compliance, supporting staff development, and collaborating closely with BOH and leadership teams to drive consistency, efficiency, and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Leads by example to deliver warm, welcoming, and efficient guest service
- Personally greets guests, supports seating flow, and touches tables during service
- Responds to guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints with professionalism and care, escalating when appropriate
- Enhances and strengthens guest relationships, both new and returning
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all food, beverage, and café offerings
Team Leadership & Supervision
- Assists with management of FOH staff, including scheduling support, coaching, conflict resolution, and documentation
- Trains and mentors FOH team members on service standards, policies, and procedures
- Promotes cooperative effort, team spirit, accountability, and positive morale
- Steps in to support FOH positions (host, server, barista, food runner, etc.) as needed due to volume or call-offs
Operations, Safety & Organization
- Oversees organization, cleanliness, and efficiency of FOH spaces, café counter, and service areas
- Ensures adherence to all company safety, sanitation, and health code policies
- Performs daily walkthroughs and periodic inspections to ensure equipment, facilities, and service areas are safe and operational
- Takes a proactive approach to facility maintenance and communicates needs to leadership
- Supports inventory awareness and proper product handling to minimize waste
Collaboration & Communication
- Maintains strong communication with BOH leadership, managers, and staff to support smooth service execution
- Works collaboratively with the management team to drive the overall success of both concepts
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of One Off Hospitality’s background, core values, and philosophy
- Completes administrative and operational tasks as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Food Handler and Basset Certification required
- Previous FOH leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented under pressure
- Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate multiple priorities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with Toast, OpenTable, and/or 7Shifts preferred
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Ability to stand and walk for 8–10 hours per shift
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the restaurant and café
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including weekends, evenings, and event days
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens, including peanuts, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish
