JOB SUMMARY


The primary responsibility of the Warehouse Specialist Worker position is to work in the Compassion Center warehouse to direct the warehouse team to receive, process, and distribute tangible resources from donors to programs and partners. The position requires operating forklifts and pallet jacks and driving a box truck for receiving and processing donations. This position also supports the warehouse supervisor in the record-keeping of gift-in-kind and the coordination of its distribution. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS


  • Ensure all BOLs on incoming donations contain the appropriate information and are processed properly for the donor, driver, and OMC. 
  • Assist the supervisor with the management of the distribution process. 
  • Direct the warehouse team to organize and stock warehouse shelves, pallet racks, coolers, and freezers.
  • Assist the Supervisor to ensure donations are offloaded upon arrival. 
  • Operate industrial equipment such as forklifts and electric pallet jacks. 
  • Drive 26-foot box trucks to deliver and or pick up donations during the week. 
  • Ensure vigilance in safe operating practices of all industrial equipment and vehicles. 
  • Demonstrate good mobility for bending, reaching, and placing items on pallets. 
  • Facilitate the distribution of resources to OMC programs and community partners.
  • Assist with inventory process, rotating stock, documenting metrics, and utilizing inventory system.
  • Follow any protocol regarding daily procedures and routines to ensure productivity, food safety defense systems, and cleanliness.
  • Ensure all interactions with donors, partners, and families are maintained with confidentiality except by law to report.
  • Willing to work Saturdays when needed.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds of weight.
  • Other assignments as needed or requested by the Warehouse Supervisor.

  • Warehouse and/or logistics experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must be able to operate a forklift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. 


This job requires the ability to work in stressful conditions from time to time and remain focused for extended periods of time. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds (boxes, documents, and/or equipment) may be required on occasion.
