Prevention Health Coordinator - Tobacco Use

One Health is seeking a dynamic Prevention Health Coordinator to lead tobacco use prevention efforts while supporting broader health education initiatives—including cancer awareness, chronic disease prevention, and community outreach across rural Montana. Location: Home base is Lewistown, MT however, this position is part of the Central Montana Health District (CMHD) sector of which service 5 surrounding counties: Judith Basin, Wheatland, Golden Valley, Musselshell, and Petroleum.

 What You’ll Do:

• Educate communities on cancer risks, screening resources, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Lead tobacco use prevention efforts through education, outreach, and advocacy.
  
• Coordinate annual work plans and initiatives in partnership with the Montana Tobacco Use Prevention Program (MTUPP).
• Train providers and community members on tobacco cessation and cancer prevention tools, resources and strategies.
• Develop engaging materials and presentations tailored to rural populations.
• Collaborate with local coalitions, schools, and health professionals to build strong partnerships and expand prevention efforts.
• Advocate for policy change and support grassroots health initiatives. 
• Evaluate program effectiveness and adjust strategies to meet evolving community needs.
• Communicate regularly through reports, presentations, and public engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience in public health, education, or prevention work (1 year required; 3 years preferred).
• Education: Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s in Public Health preferred.
• Skills: Strong communication, organization, and self-motivation.
• Tech-savvy: Comfortable with Microsoft Office and virtual collaboration.
• Public speaking: Confident presenting to diverse audiences.
