One Health is looking for a Montana-licensed Addiction Counselor to join our Lewistown integrated clinical team!

Loan Repayment: Because One Health serves many communities that have been designated in need of qualified medical and behavioral health services, you may qualify for national or state student loan repayment programs administered through the National Health Service Corp, Nurse Corps, and Montana State Loan Repayment Program.

 

COMPENSATION: $60,137 - $65,000/year, DOE

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time

AVAILABILITY: Mon-Friday. This is an in-clinic position.


POSITION SUMMARY: 

Responsible for providing behavioral health services including substance abuse and addiction evaluations and treatment for services to One Health patients at multiple sites within the One Health system with an integrated health care model, per the clinical privileges associated with their licensure and area of expertise.  Utilizes a balanced integrated approach which includes the perspectives of all disciplines involved in mental health services and will have a role definition flexible enough to accommodate the diversity of programs offered through the center.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Evaluates and treats patients/clients (including walk-ins) within licensed scope of practice; evaluates and treats mental illness and substance abuse, treats or appropriately refers patients, for specialty evaluation and treatment, provides preventive health/lifestyle advice and case management, and provides consultation to other staff.
  2. Participates in multi-disciplinary, team-based care of patients/clients.
  3. Provides consultation to other members of primary care and behavioral health care teams.
  4. Participates in training, reporting, and other requirements of various grant supported programs implemented by One Health and partners.
  5. Participates in the student and/or other clinical discipline training activities at the center.
  6. Participates in the formation and evaluation of applicable protocols.
  7. Maintains continuity of care when health center patients utilize other health care facilities, i.e. referrals, emergency room services, outpatient departments, specialty clinics, and inpatient services.
  8. Provides documentation according to health center procedures and follows up on results.
  9. Participates in staff meetings, including quality assurance and behavioral health audit activities in keeping with health center procedures.
  10. Participates in on-site and off-site outreach and continuing education programs and ensures training to maintain license and to meet the needs of the population.
  11. Adheres to all One Health Policies and Procedures.
  12. Participates in performance optimization and risk management activities as required.
  13. Cooperates and abides by all elements of One Health’s Compliance Program.
  14. Provides exceptional customer service and models the mission of One Health when interacting with internal and external stakeholders promoting a positive image for the health center.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned or required with or without prior notification.

 



MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 


Education/Certificates/Licenses: 

Required

  • Associate’s of Arts or Applied Science degree in alcohol and drug studies or substance abuse from an accredited college or university
  • Licensed in Montana as an addiction counselor or licensed in Wyoming as an addiction therapist
  • Certified Prime for Life instruction within 90 days of hire
  • BLS Certification upon hire
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in alcohol and drug studies (Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Counseling or a related field from an accredited college or university

 

Experience:

WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work indoors in heat-controlled environment 95% of the time.
  • Moderate noise level consistent with an office environment.
  • Typically, 40-hour workweek.
  • Periodic travel to other One Health sites.

 

Salary : $60,137 - $65,000
