General Description:
This position is on-site 5 days a week in the office (Sarasota or Orlando). Hybrid or Remote are not available. The Senior System Business Analyst is a hybrid role that combines business analysis, systems integration, and project delivery responsibilities. This position serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT, while also owning the end-to-end delivery of system solutions.
The role is responsible for analyzing business needs, defining functional and technical requirements, designing integrated solutions, and managing the delivery of initiatives through the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This includes overseeing project scope, timelines, risks, resource coordination, and system integration efforts to ensure solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
This position requires a strong blend of analytical thinking, technical acumen, and project leadership, with the ability to drive complex initiatives across cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Solution Design
Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams.
Elicit, analyze, and document business and system requirements for complex initiatives.
Translate business needs into functional, technical, and integration specifications including workflows, system diagrams, and data flows.
Perform gap analysis, root cause analysis, and feasibility assessments to define optimal solutions.
Collaborate with software vendors, architects, developers, and SMEs to define solution architecture and integration approaches.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive business transformation initiatives.
System Integration & Technical Leadership
Design and oversee system integrations across applications, platforms, and third-party vendors.
Contribute to system architecture, data integration strategies, and interface design.
Develop technical documentation such as system designs, data mappings, and flow diagrams.
Coordinate with development teams to ensure solutions are built according to specifications.
Participate in system configuration, validation, and performance monitoring post-implementation.
Lead or support integration testing, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system stability
Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend solutions aligned to business needs.
Project Management & Delivery
Own execution of assigned initiatives across the full SDLC, from intake through implementation and support.
Define project scope, deliverables, timelines, dependencies, and resource requirements.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and status reporting.
Manage multiple concurrent projects of varying complexity and priority.
Facilitate Agile or Waterfall ceremonies as appropriate (e.g., stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives.
Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders and leadership.
Testing, Implementation & Support
Define system, integration, and user acceptance testing strategies.
Review and validate test cases, scripts, and test results to ensure quality delivery.
Coordinate user acceptance testing and ensure business readiness.
Support deployment activities and ensure compliance with change management processes.
Monitor post-implementation performance and resolve defects or production issues.
Provide training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to end users and support staff.

Education and / or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field required
- 10 years of experience in business analysis, systems implementation, or IT project delivery
- Proven experience delivering complex system implementations and integrations
- Strong understanding of SDLC, system architecture, and application integration principles.
- Experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience working with enterprise platforms (Applied-EPIC, or similar preferred).
- Property & Casualty Insurance experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Licenses and / or Certifications:
- PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent experience, preferred.
- Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, etc.), preferred.
