General Description:
Responsible for timely and accurate processing of payments, research and performing monthly reconciliations as well as other accounting duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for all aspects of payment processing to include all payments types.
Monitor and reconcile payment receipts, payment remittance, apply premium to policies and investigate discrepancies.
Post data to various ledgers, registers, and journals following established accounting techniques and procedures.
Reconcile cash, receivables and various other accounts and ledgers ensuring accuracy.
Process payments to vendors and agency partners as well as prepare year-end 1099s.
Adhere to monthly close process timelines and statutory requirements.
Work closely with cross-function teams on any operational issues and ensure compliance and controls are in place.
Special Projects as requested.
Performs other duties as required.

Education and / or Experience:
Associate or bachelor’s in business, accounting or finance preferred. A minimum of three (3) years accounting/finance/cash processing experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with Property & Casualty Insurance is preferred.
Understanding of balance sheet and income statement interactions is preferred.
Knowledge of account reconciliation and ability to identify and drive remedies to ongoing issues.
Ability to take ownership of assigned areas and projects, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.
Proficient computer knowledge, specifically with Excel spreadsheets.
Attention to detail and strong organization skills are essential in this position.
