Duties
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for children in preschool, toddler care, and infant care settings
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, naps, and learning activities to ensure safety and engagement
- Foster positive behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation, respect, and independence among children
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports learning and safety standards
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about children's progress, behavior, and needs
- Assist with classroom management by organizing materials, setting up activities, and supporting individualized learning plans
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting or similar environments
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively and compassionately
- Familiarity with special education needs and working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Proficiency in classroom management and creating engaging lesson plans for young learners
- Knowledge of infant care, toddler care, and preschool activities to support various age groups
- Certification in first aid is highly desirable; CPR certification is a plus
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and connect with children’s families
