Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment for children. This position is perfect for individuals who are enthusiastic about early childhood education and have a strong commitment to fostering the development of young learners. This position is per demi hours only (as needed) for morning shift. Needs to be flexible between the hours of 6 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive learning atmosphere and addressing behavioral issues as they arise.
- Provide individualized attention to children, especially those with special needs or disabilities, including autism.
- Facilitate toddler care and preschool activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster collaboration and support student development.
- Help with the preparation of classroom materials and resources for lessons.
- Observe and document student progress and behavior to assist in developing tailored educational strategies.
Qualifications
- Experience or coursework in early childhood education or a related field is preferred.
- Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques.
- Knowledge of childcare practices, particularly for preschool-aged children.
- Familiarity with special education strategies and working with children with disabilities or autism is a plus.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their educational journey.
- Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the classroom environment.
- Ability to pass background and fingerprinting.
- Ability to keep up on all trainings and attend all meetings.
