JOB REQUIREMENTS: The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire a Facility
Maintenance Technician and Lead Facility Maintenance Technician. These
are considered Limited Term Employment positions. Scheduled hours vary
for each event, but may include: mornings, afternoons, evenings and
weekends. An employee in these positions are responsible for a variety
of tasks related to building maintenance and event functions. Work is
Performed According To The Building Supervisor. Essential Job Functions
Complete the set-up and takedown of equipment from events and return the
building to its original condition before and after each event. Enforce
rules of the Omni Center regarding the general public by ensuring safety
protocols when on premises. Ability to recognize any problems with
regards to the building, its contents, equipment, or supplies and report
any questionable changes to the supervisor or maintenance lead by
written or verbal communication. Assist in the maintenance of the ice,
which includes resurfacing, flooding, patching and edging as well as any
other duties deemed necessary. Assist in the maintenance of the building
to maintain the best possible condition. Duties include, but are not
limited to, bathroom cleaning and restocking, floor care, windows, and
custodial cleaning, as well as outside maintenance. Performs opening
procedures for the building during events and properly securing the
building each night. Ensure customers or prospective customers needs are
reasonably met during the course of an event to the best of your ability
or seek advice from the immediate supervisor. Ensure cleanliness and
safety of the building and surrounding grounds. Ability to maintain a
professional demeanor and establish effective working relationships with
the general public, associates, volunteers, and staff; and have the
ability to calmly approach and solve problems under stressful
circumstances; maintain and promote harmony in the workplace; ability to
concentrate for extended periods of time and be flexible. Contributes to
a cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to perform
other job-related work as needed or requested. Assistance is given to
others and special projects to be completed as scheduled or requested.
Lead Facility Maintenance Technician: In addition to the above, also
responsible to: Lead a crew to complete the set-up and takedown of
equipment from events and return the building to its original condition
before and after each event. Assist in the maintenance of the ice, which
includes resurfacing, flooding, patching and edging as well as any other
duties deemed necessary. Provide direction to other part time staff in
the absence of a supervisor. Physical Requirements: The work environment

equivalent. Must be 18 years old minimum. Good oral and written

Maintenance, Ice Arena Operations And/or Custodial Duties. Compensation
Wage range for these seasonal, limited-term positions are \$14.00 to
