What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Specialist position at On With Life?
This full time Maintenance Specialist position is Monday-Friday day shift, 40 hours per week. The shift start and end times are flexible between the hours of 6:00am-5:30pm. While this position does have on-call responsibilities, there are no scheduled weekend or holiday hours required. This position's primary work location is our Ankeny campus, but will require occasional travel to other local campuses such as Polk City or Des Moines.
This position starts at $19/hour for minimal experience. We do annual raises based on budget capacity, and you also have the opportunity for a discretionary bonus at your anniversary. You are eligible for a 401k match, PTO, and other benefits including subsidized health, dental and vision insurance. You will have support from both the leadership team at the facility as well as the Facilities Manager at our Ankeny facility. Essential Function Highlights
- Oversee maintenance tasks (indoor, outdoor, and vehicles)
- Will participate and/or oversee the facility safety program, including SDS, safety committee, and OSHA requirements
- Ensures facility is in compliance at all times with state and federal regulations and assists with surveys and plans of correction, as necessary
- Works with people at all levels, must be able to communicate effectively with others, maintain positive relationships, and lead by example
- Puts others first - those we serve are at the core of what we do; their goals and values guide all decisions
- Looks for opportunities to be innovative and create change
- Is curious and dares to be extraordinary; be willing to be both the expert and the student

- Has previous experience in a long term care facility
- Experience and familiarity with preventive maintenance programs, OSHA, Fire Marshal surveys and DIA Surveys
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
