Job Summary
POSITION OVERVIEW
On The Go Medical is a Durable Medical Equipment (DME) provider dedicated to improving patient mobility and quality of life. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Office Assistant to support our administrative team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative & Office Support
- Assist with filing, scanning, and organizing patient documents and medical records * Help maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) and DME management systems * Answer and route incoming calls in a professional and HIPAA-compliant manner * Support the team with data entry, spreadsheets, and general office tasks * Prepare patient intake folders and documentation packets
Patient & Insurance Coordination Support
- Assist with outbound patient verification calls and appointment reminders * Help track and organize physician orders and prior authorization documentation * Support insurance verification processes under staff supervision * Learn to identify and log referrals from physicians and marketers
Inventory & Equipment Support
- Assist in organizing and logging DME inventory and supply deliveries * Help prepare equipment for patient deliveries and pickups * Conduct periodic inventory counts alongside the Store Coordinator
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all tasks * Assist in reviewing documentation for completeness and accuracy * Learn and follow On The Go Medical's internal compliance protocols
Experience
- Prior experience or coursework in medical billing, coding, or healthcare operations * Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems or DME software * Basic understanding of insurance terminology and prior authorization processes * Interest in pursuing a career in healthcare administration or DME/home health
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
