Equipment Operator

Equipment Operator – East Side, Madison, WICompany: On-Site Staffing ServicesPay: $24.00/hrSchedule: Typically, 4:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m., occasional early/late shifts, occasional SaturdaysKey ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy equipment for earth moving, trash processing, and composting operations, including front-end loaders, dozers, scrapers, landfill compactors, mobile compost mixers, tub grinders, concrete crushers, bailers, excavators, ADT trucks, and other machinery.Processing incoming material to build waste cells per the landfill permitted plans.Maintain work areas in a leveled and organized manner.Work with traffic control spotters to identify filled areas for dumping waste.Operate trash compactors on 3:1 or 4:1 slope in 2-foot lifts.Perform water tanker operations for dust control, compaction, and grass watering.Build and maintain access and hauling roads.Use handheld radios or company phones to coordinate tasks.Conduct equipment inspections, perform daily maintenance, and maintain accurate logs.Identify hazardous or unacceptable materials and report to supervisors.Ensure compliance with safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferred but not required.Minimum 1 year of heavy equipment operation experience.Must meet company safety-sensitive criteria.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to operate all equipment necessary for the job.Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.Ability to read, write, and complete daily reports accurately.Knowledge of OSHA and company safety policies, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.Physical and Mental DemandsStand, walk, bend, reach, lift, kneel, crawl, climb, balance, talk, hear, and use hands/fingers extensively.Ability to lift/move up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. with assistance.Must have good vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.Work primarily outdoors (90% of the time) in varied weather conditions.Working ConditionsExposure to outdoor elements, dust, fumes, uneven ground, small spaces, and strong odors. Company DescriptionOn-Site Staffing Services is a family owned and operated employment placement agency taking a hands-on approach to creating a skilled workforce in the greater Milwaukee area.
