Title: Production Material Coordinator
Reports To: Senior Operations Manager
Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
The Production Material Coordinator is well-organized, has a great eye for detail, ability to analyze data, and excels in communication. They must be comfortable with Excel, Google, and SmartSheet forms. They may occasionally be called upon to work with warehouse production personnel to pack out and prepare jobs for shipment. Skill level requires general computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office products and e-mail to handle data entry related to production functions as well as understanding shipping & receiving documentation. They need to be well versed in driving a sit-down forklift along with a stand-up reach truck.
The goal is to ensure that Production materials are well-organized, and that the Production Lines are set up for success. This position will also ensure that Production data is communicated out on a timely basis.
This position will report to the Senior Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work well within a team
- Assist the Sr. Operations Manager with production planning and evaluation tasks.
- Able to understand complex BOMs and interpret them well enough to recognize and communicate potential issues that may arise during production.
- Gather production data daily.
- Communicate production temporary associate hours and allocations to Human Resources daily.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of management.
- Track and move production materials before and after production tasks are completed.
- Prepare job tickets, including tracking of incoming materials to ensure production tasks can be carried out appropriately.
- Track general items (staples, pallets, generic labels, etc.), request cost transfers of these items when appropriate, request re-order of these items as needed.
- Keep track of the production tasks and labor on a daily basis, including allocation of associates and kits and quantities produced.
- Alerts management of unsafe conditions in the warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned.
2. Requirements and Qualifications
- Familiarity with production techniques.
- Able to drive a sit-down forklift and a stand-up reach truck.
- Able to compile and manipulate data for production coordination purposes.
- Willing to help within all areas on the production floor and other depts.
· Knowledge of retail industry – preferred.
3. Process Improvement:
- Analyze departmental processes and protocols to identify areas for improvement for prepress operations.
- Maintain and improve strategies to increase efficiency, reduce errors and streamline operations.
4. Communication:
- Communicate with fellow associates to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
Education, Certifications and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Equivalent work experience as a material handler a plus.
Work Environment
- This is a warehouse position in our Akron facility.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
- May require occasional overtime based on project timelines.
- Some lifting and material moving are required.
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
