What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls and Automation Engineer position at On Line Design, Inc.?
On Line Design, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer, preferably in the Cincinnati area, to lead controls/software design for high-speed equipment lines supporting products in the consumer goods sector. To be successful in this role, you will need experience supporting feature version upgrades and change requests. You will additionally need an understanding of Controls and Automation as it relates to consumer products manufacturing and high-speed equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead software design activities across platforms including management of Feature Versions and Change Requests for new and existing applications
- Perform design trades and present findings in design reviews to ensure customer deliverables are met and timelines can be achieved
- Lead design and engineering reviews around electrical and controls projects including circuit design, controls design, and implementation
- Responsible for overseeing implementation of projects at manufacturing facilities to ensure successful implementation
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Ensure on time, high-quality deliverables
Required Knowledge/Experience
- Experience mentoring/coaching engineers or designers
- Knowledge of NFPA 70/70E, NEC, CE standards
- Feature Versioning
- Change Request processes
- Prior consumer products experience required (e.g. baby care, feminine care, family care, personal care)
Additional Details
- Must work independently with minimal supervision
- Remote role (dedicated home workspace required)
- Occasional on-site meetings in Cincinnati, OH required
- Travel to manufacturing facilities 4-6 times per year
