Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist
On Care Family Health – Cicero, New York
On Care Family Health is a growing and busy Family Practice office seeking a dependable and positive team member to join our staff as a Medical Assistant / Medical Receptionist. This dual-role position requires someone who is organized, compassionate, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
We’re looking for a team player with great customer service skills, a positive outlook on life, and the ability to remain calm and professional when handling stressful situations.
Compensation: $18- $20/ hour - Based on experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
· SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
· Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
· Performing blood draws (phlebotomy preferred)
· Conducting 12-lead EKGs
· Greeting patients and managing check-in/check-out
· Verifying insurance and updating demographics
· Collecting co-pays and account balances
· Scheduling appointments and managing patient flow
· Answering and directing calls on a multi-line phone system
· Communicating messages accurately to clinical and clerical staff
· Assisting with referrals and prior authorizations
· Completing data entry and general administrative duties
· Acting as a receptionist on days when rooming or lab work is not required
Qualifications:
· Phlebotomy experience preferred
· Knowledge of Athena EMR preferred (training provided)
· Proficient computer and typing skills required
· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
· Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
