Duties
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and perform patient intake procedures efficiently.
- Collect vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature to assist clinicians in patient assessments.
- Prepare exam rooms and assist with basic medical procedures.
- Operate Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems accurately to document patient encounters, ICD coding, and medical history details.
- Assist with diagnostic procedures.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow, and follow-up communications to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Support clinical staff with tasks related to anatomy knowledge, physiology basics, and emergency protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Handle administrative duties such as answering phones, managing referrals and verifying insurance information.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to infection control protocols.
- Requirements
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or Receptionist in outpatient clinics or hospital environments; experience in Internal/Family Medicine is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in managing patient records accurately.
- Ability to handle fast-paced situations.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and teamwork.
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail in intake processes and vital signs collection.
