Accounting Coordinator
Position Summary
The Accounting Coordinator is responsible for performing daily accounting functions, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and payroll processing. This position helps maintain accurate financial records, ensures timely payments to vendors and employees, and assists with resolving routine accounting and administrative issues as they arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records through daily bookkeeping activities
- Process accounts payable, including reviewing invoices, obtaining approvals, and preparing payments
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule while maintaining payroll records and confidentiality
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts
- Maintain vendor files and employee payroll records
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Prepare routine financial reports and supporting documentation as requested
- Research and resolve routine accounting discrepancies, payment issues, and payroll questions
- Communicate with vendors, employees, and internal staff regarding invoices, payments, and payroll matters
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable, and payroll processing
- Working knowledge of accounting principles and accounting software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and maintain confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving skills to resolve routine accounting and administrative issues.
- Proven experience in accounting or finance roles with a strong foundation in corporate accounting principles.
- Hands-on experience with data entry, account reconciliation, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping.
- Demonstrated ability in Excel data analysis, spreadsheets management, and working with accounting systems.
- Excellent numeracy skills combined with attention to detail; ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
- Effective communication skills for customer service interactions related to accounts management or internal inquiries.
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
