The Electronic Communications Technician supports technical surveillance and communications infrastructure for JCITA training environments, ensuring reliable, compliant, and mission-aligned capabilities across classroom and field exercises.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, operate, maintain, and repair communications systems for training and field exercises
- Support radio, cellular, microwave, and surveillance communications across the JCITA fleet
- Manage 450 cellular devices and associated infrastructure
- Maintain and operate surveillance mapping systems and geo-tagging technologies
- Develop lesson plans and provide instruction on technical equipment usage
- Conduct research and recommend new technologies to enhance training capabilities
- Maintain accountability of Government Furnished Property (GFP) and Controlled Access Property (CAP)
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable federal laws and regulations
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with communications and surveillance systems in operational or training environments
- Strong knowledge of:
- Radio systems (Motorola P25, repeaters, encryption tools)
- Cellular, GSM, and satellite communications
- Surveillance technologies and discreet collection equipment
- Photography and A/V systems (Nikon, Sony, Panasonic, DVRs)
- Experience with mapping software, geo-tagging, and technical surveillance tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and technical documentation tools
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Former military SIGINT, communications, or surveillance specialist
- Experience supporting CI, HUMINT, or law enforcement training environments
- Comfortable operating in both classroom and field settings
