About the Role
OMNI Water Consultants is hiring a degreed Analytical Chemist for our Non-Compliance Laboratory in Vinita, Oklahoma.
Our lab supports rural water systems by identifying, verifying, and resolving out-of-specification results in drinking water and wastewater analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing of drinking water samples using approved methods
- Testing responsibilites include TOC, bench testing (pH, alkalinity, hardness, total and Ortho Phosphate, Iron, Manganese, Spec Gravity)
- Conduct calibration, maintenance, and QC checks for TOC analyzers
- Validate and interpret data
- Collaborate with field and compliance teams to resolve analytical discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Contribute to SOP and QA/QC improvements within a DEQ-certified facility
- Contribute to our Operator Training lab classes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or closely related analytical science (required)
- Minimum 1 year of analytical or environmental laboratory experience preferred
- Proficiency with TOC and bench tests
- Strong data analysis, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a regulated setting
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) suitable for coverage under company insurance.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screenings, in accordance with company policy and applicable state and federal regulations.
Working Environment
Work is performed primarily in OMNI’s Non-Compliance Laboratory in Vinita, OK. Employee must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodations:
- Lift, carry, and move objects or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds (e.g., sample containers, gas cylinders).
- Stand and/or walk for extended periods during laboratory testing or sample preparation.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and twist as needed to access instruments, sample racks, and supply storage.
- Use hands and fingers to manipulate small tools, pipettes, glassware, and analytical instruments with precision.
- Read, interpret, and record analytical data and instrument displays accurately.
- Communicate clearly in person and in writing to report results and follow safety instructions.
- Distinguish colors and visual changes (important for titrations, indicator reactions, or colorimetric testing).
- Tolerate exposure to typical laboratory conditions including odors, low-level chemical vapors, and temperature variations within safety limits.
- Wear required PPE, including lab coats, gloves, safety glasses, and, when applicable, respirators.
- Use a computer and standard office software for data entry, report generation, and email communication.
- Adhere to time-sensitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and compliance with QA/QC procedures.
