We are seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. This position is ideal for someone with experience in the low-voltage industry who understands construction environments and is eager to grow their estimating and project development skills.
The Estimator will assist in preparing labor and material estimates for low-voltage systems including fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, nurse call, and related technologies. We are looking for someone with strong industry knowledge, the ability to read plans and specifications, and a willingness to learn our systems, processes, and product lines.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare accurate labor and material estimates for low-voltage projects.
- Review construction drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Utilize vendor relationships, manufacturer pricing, and internal standards to develop estimates and proposals.
- Collaborate with project managers, field staff, and leadership throughout the estimating process.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Participate in ongoing training related to products, software, and industry standards.
- Conduct occasional site visits (less than 10% of the time) to gather project information and assist with scope development.
- Experience in the low-voltage, electrical, or construction industry preferred.
- Familiarity with low-voltage systems such as fire alarm, access control, CCTV/video surveillance, nurse call, structured cabling, or audio/video systems.
- Hands-on field, service, installation, project coordination, or estimating experience is strongly valued.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Experience with takeoff or estimating software preferred.
- Familiarity with construction management or project tracking software is a plus.
- Experience with D-Tools is preferred but not required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
