OMNI IT Solutions is a Managed Services Provider (MSP) headquartered in Hammond, Louisiana, serving businesses throughout Southeast Louisiana since 2007. We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Service & Installation Technician to join our growing team. This is a senior-level, hands-on position for a technician who enjoys solving complex technical problems while leading projects and mentoring fellow technicians.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, technically proficient, and capable of leading projects from planning through completion. While this is not a department management position, you will regularly oversee junior technicians during installations and service calls, ensuring work is completed safely, professionally, and to OMNI's standards.

Salary: $45,000 annually

Senior IT Service & Installation Technician Responsibilities

• Lead IT service calls, installations, and infrastructure projects from planning through completion.
• Supervise, mentor, and train junior technicians while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
• Serve as the lead technician on assigned projects and act as the primary technical contact on-site.
• Maintain professional communication with clients before, during, and after projects.
• Perform site surveys and assist with project planning and estimating.
• Configure and deploy servers, workstations, Microsoft 365 environments, networking equipment, wireless systems, surveillance cameras, and access control systems.
• Install, terminate, label, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and according to OMNI standards.
• Review completed work, provide coaching, and maintain quality control.
• Accurately document work performed, network information, and project details.
• Coordinate with office staff regarding scheduling, materials, and project progress.
• Represent OMNI professionally at all client locations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of professional IT and low-voltage installation experience.
• Experience leading projects and supervising technicians in the field.
• Strong understanding of:
• Windows operating systems
• Microsoft 365
• Active Directory
• TCP/IP networking
• Switching, routing, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networking
• Experience installing and supporting structured cabling systems.
• Experience installing and supporting security camera systems.
• Experience installing and supporting access control systems.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Professional appearance and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail.
• High level of discretion and confidentiality.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry heavy or bulky equipment.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Climb ladders and safely operate lifts.
• Travel to multiple customer locations throughout Southeast Louisiana.
