What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Service and Installation Technician position at OMNI IT Solutions?
OMNI IT Solutions is a managed services provider operating continuously in Hammond, Louisiana, since 2007 providing managed IT services, security camera integration, and structured cabling installation and we will have an opportunity for an individual to join our team as an IT Service and Installation Technician in the near future. The opportunity will be for an entry to intermediate-level position for which at least one year of hands-on experience or two years of a qualified Information Technology training program is required. The individual will work alone as necessary but will spend most of their time working as part of a team. Compensation for the position will range from $16 - $20 / hour and is based upon the applicants education and experience. IT Service and Installation Technician Responsibilities:
- Maintain communication with clients
- Perform site surveys
- Research and plan project proposals
- Hardware assembly and configuration
- Cable and hardware installation
- Cable and hardware maintenance and troubleshooting
- Documentation
IT Service and Installation Technician Skills:
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong sense of professionalism
- Be capable of working as a team
- Understanding of IT networking principles
- Understanding of and experience with structured cabling installation and the associated tools
- Attention to detail and organization
- Ability to manage projects and deadlines
- Lifting of heavy/bulky equipment
- Capable of climbing ladders and working at heights in a lift indoors and outdoors
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required
