Job Summary:
The Safety & Security Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety and security programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and secure work environment across all company facilities. This role partners with leadership and operations teams to reduce risk, prevent incidents, and promote a strong safety culture.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety and security policies, procedures, and programs
• Partner with department leaders to promote a proactive safety culture and accountability
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and facility inspections; implement corrective actions
• Monitor and evaluate safety and security program effectiveness; recommend improvements
• Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up
• Coordinate and deliver safety training, including new hire orientation and ongoing training
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA
• Oversee emergency preparedness programs, drills, and response procedures
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, training, inspections, and compliance activities
• Identify and implement opportunities to reduce workplace injuries, accidents, and health risks
• Exercise stop-work authority when unsafe conditions or behaviors are observed
• Assist in managing safety and security-related budgets, equipment, and resources
• Support facility security protocols, including access control and incident reporting
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills:
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safety compliance in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of security practices, emergency response planning, and risk management
• Ability to conduct training and present information effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Education and Experience:
• Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, or related field preferred
• 2–3 years of safety, security, or EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
• Additional safety or security certifications are a plus
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the facility
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and equipment
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds as needed
• Ability to respond to emergency situations, including after-hours if required
