Forklift Operator Receiver

Job Summary:
 The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a forklift to move, load, and unload materials throughout the facility. This role requires frequent on-and-off movement from the forklift and includes material handling, warehouse organization, and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate demonstrates attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to follow operational procedures and instructions accurately.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate a forklift to move, load, unload, and stage materials throughout the facility
• Frequently dismount forklift to manually position, inspect, and handle materials
• Conduct pre-shift equipment inspections and routine forklift maintenance
• Inspect products for quality and accuracy before and after transport
• Securely load and unload shipments onto pallets, skids, and vehicles
• Stack and organize inbound and outbound materials per company procedures
• Transport materials between production and designated warehouse locations
• Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
• Report equipment malfunctions, product damage, or safety concerns to supervisor
• Maintain accurate records of material movement and handling activities
• Assist with general warehouse tasks and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
• Other tasks assigned by supervisor or manager

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in operating a forklift safely in a warehouse or production environment
• Strong situational awareness and ability to navigate safely in tight or congested areas
• Ability to work independently and follow verbal and written instructions
• Basic troubleshooting skills for equipment and minor maintenance
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 5 years of forklift operation experience
• Valid forklift operator certification required
• Experience in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment preferred

Physical Requirements: 

• Must be able to frequently mount and dismount a forklift throughout the shift
• Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods
• Tolerate working in hot, cold, or noisy environments as needed
• Ability to work 8- to 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled
