Position Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for the accurate and efficient movement of incoming materials and outgoing finished products. This position plays an important role in keeping production supplied, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring customer orders are properly prepared and shipped on time.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Receive incoming ingredients, packaging materials, supplies, and other deliveries.
· Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and delivery paperwork.
· Inspect deliveries for shortages, damage, or discrepancies and immediately report any concerns.
· Properly label, date, organize, and store received materials.
· Prepare finished products for shipment, including picking, staging, wrapping, labeling, and verifying orders.
· Confirm product quantities and lot information before products leave the facility.
· Complete and maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation.
· Assist with inventory counts and report inventory discrepancies.
· Rotate materials and products using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures when applicable.
· Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse, dock, freezer, cooler, and storage areas.
· Safely operate pallet jacks and other approved material-handling equipment.
· Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
· Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, Operations, and office personnel to ensure materials and finished products are available when needed.
· Follow all company food safety, sanitation, allergen-control, GMP, and workplace safety procedures.
· Immediately report damaged products, questionable materials, temperature concerns, contamination risks, or other food-safety issues.
· Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
· Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, manufacturing, or food-production experience preferred.
· Ability to accurately count, read labels, and complete basic shipping and inventory documentation.
· Basic computer skills preferred.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, management, vendors, and drivers.
· Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work with minimal supervision.
· Forklift or powered equipment experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
· Ability to regularly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
· Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive movements.
· Ability to work in warehouse, cooler, freezer, and production environments as required.
· Ability to safely perform physical warehouse duties throughout the scheduled shift.
