Role Description The Restoration Crew Chief is a full-time, on-site role based in Lynchburg, VA. This position oversees field crews performing disaster mitigation, remediation, and restoration services, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards. Daily responsibilities include directing work on-site, monitoring job progress, documenting conditions, and communicating updates to homeowners, team members, and insurance representatives. The Restoration Crew Chief is expected to perform hands-on work, operate equipment, maintain job-site safety, and verify that all work meets quality and regulatory requirements. This role also involves training new team members, coordinating materials and logistics, and supporting emergency response efforts, including after-hours or weekend assignments when needed.
Qualifications
- Experience leading restoration, construction, or field service crews, with strong team leadership and task coordination skills.
- Knowledge of disaster mitigation, remediation, and restoration practices, including water damage, fire/smoke cleanup, and mold or biohazard handling.
- Commitment to safety protocols and regulatory compliance, including proper use of PPE and adherence to industry standards.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with homeowners, insurance adjusters, and internal teams, with the ability to provide clear explanations and updates.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to assess site conditions and determine appropriate restoration actions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, standing, and working in varied environments and conditions.
