Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Dental Assistant of at least 3 years to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. As a Dental Assistant, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient interactions, and maintain a sterile environment while adhering to infection control protocols.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during various dental procedures.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control standards.
- Take dental X-rays as required.
- Record patient medical histories and vital signs accurately.
- Manage patient scheduling, including confirming appointments and following up on treatment plans.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area to ensure optimal patient comfort.
- Utilize dental software such as "Curve" for patient management and record keeping.
- Support pediatric patients with a gentle approach to create a positive experience.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program is preferred.
- At least 3 years experience is required to be considered.
- Current X-ray license.
- Certification in Dental Assisting (CDA) is a plus.
- Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is desirable.
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices in a dental setting.
- Familiarity with prosthodontics procedures is advantageous.
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and understanding medical coding related to dental procedures.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, particularly children in pediatric settings.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
