Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing detailed mechanical designs, creating precise schematics, and supporting system design projects from concept through completion. Your expertise will help drive project success and ensure adherence to industry standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed mechanical designs using CAD software such as AutoCAD, AutoDESK Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit, and MicroStation.
- Create comprehensive schematics and technical drawings aligned with project requirements and industry standards like ASME codes & standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to translate conceptual ideas into functional mechanical systems and assemblies.
- Conduct system design analysis, including FEA (Finite Element Analysis), to validate structural integrity and performance.
- Prepare technical documentation, including drafting reports, technical writing, and assembly instructions.
- Support construction teams by providing clear drawings and specifications for manufacturing and installation processes.
- Utilize tools like Bluebeam, NavisWorks, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and 2D animation to enhance project visualization and coordination.
Skills
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, and Pro/ENGINEER.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in system design, schematics, and drafting practices.
- Familiarity with industry standards including ASME codes & standards for mechanical design.
- Experience with FEA tools for structural analysis and validation.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction documents accurately.
- Excellent technical writing skills for creating detailed reports and documentation.
- Knowledge of construction processes related to mechanical systems installation. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or related field
- 10 years of relevant mechanical design experience
- Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD tools (minimum 5,000 hours), such as:
- AutoCAD 3D
- Autodesk Inventor / Inventor Professional
- SolidWorks or similar platforms
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and fabrication detailing
