Associate Software Systems Engineer
Join OPPDs Technology & Security team as an Associate Software Systems Engineer an entry level role designed to launch your career in software systems engineering. In this role, you will learn to support, maintain, and enhance the applications that power OPPDs operations. You will contribute to system upgrades, production support, and the delivery of new features that help OPPD provide reliable and sustainable energy to more than 900,000 customer owners across 13 counties.
The Impact You Will Have
Support the delivery of application enhancements and new system functionality by helping implement, maintain, and update software systems.
Improve system reliability by participating in lifecycle maintenance, applying patches, and coordinating updates with vendors and stakeholders.
Contribute to successful project outcomes by working on system upgrades, integrations, and implementation tasks within the software development lifecycle.
Strengthen OPPD¿s incident response by assisting with troubleshooting, researching solutions, and resolving system issues to meet technology standards.
Enhance operational efficiency by identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, and modern development practices.
Support cross-functional collaboration by working effectively with peers, QA, Business Analysts, and stakeholders across the organization.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
Must-have
Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with software development and coding, including knowledge of at least one programming language.
Strong organizational, problemsolving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Outlook, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to support multiple priorities and contribute positively in a team environment.
Preferred
Internship or co-op experience in a related field.
Familiarity with languages such as C#, C , Java, Groovy, PL/SQL, PowerShell, PeopleCode, JavaScript, Python, HTML, or CSS.
Experience installing, configuring, or integrating systems.
Knowledge of Linux or Windows server environments.
