What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Omada Search?
This role will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all financial reporting, strengthening internal processes, and guiding day-to-day accounting activities. The Controller will serve as a key partner to leadership, offering insight, structure, and strategic support as the business continues to grow.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the full scope of accounting operations—including the general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that align with GAAP standards.
- Build, refine, and maintain internal controls to ensure data accuracy and protect company assets.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning to keep leadership informed and prepared.
- Translate financial data into actionable insights, partnering closely with senior leaders on strategic decisions.
- Manage annual audits and serve as the primary contact for auditors, banking partners, and other financial stakeholders.
- Stay current on and ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- Lead and develop the accounting team, promoting strong processes, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA or MBA is a plus.
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with 3 years in a management role.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and established financial reporting practices.
- Proven ability to manage core accounting functions and implement efficient, scalable processes.
- Strong proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
- A meticulous approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
