Position Overview
- We are seeking a highly motivated Engineer / Project Manager to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a unique opportunity to work in a small, entrepreneurial two-person satellite office, partnering closely with a dedicated sales professional to develop and
- launch new products.
- While locally based in Phoenix, this role is fully integrated with our engineering team in Burnsville, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will collaborate remotely with other engineers while maintaining strong local ownership of projects and priorities.
- This role is hands-on and highly impactful. The ideal candidate will be responsible for
- designing and managing large assemblies in SolidWorks, while also leading projects from concept through production.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex large assemblies in SolidWorks for new and existing products.
- Manage engineering projects from concept through design, prototyping, and production.
- Collaborate closely with the Phoenix-based sales partner to align product development with market needs.
- Work remotely with the Burnsville-based engineering team, ensuring alignment on design standards, project priorities, and best practices.
- Create detailed 3D models, drawings, and documentation suitable for manufacturing and sourcing.
- Utilize and maintain SolidWorks PDM to manage revisions, file control, and engineering documentation across locations.
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to ensure successful product launches.
- Develop prototypes and oversee testing to validate design performance and durability.
- Identify opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains.
- Maintain project timelines and ensure on-time delivery of new products.
- Support sourcing decisions by understanding the cost and manufacturability impact of design changes.
- Provide technical support for existing product lines as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required).
- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (required).
- Experience with SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management) (required).
- Proven project management experience, including managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience working with large assemblies and complex mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (plastics, metal, and/or rubber components preferred).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in both independent and remote team environments.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of driving projects forward with minimal supervision.
- Powersports interest or experience is a plus.
