Summary
The Cook Intern supports the culinary team in the daily operations of the kitchen while gaining hands-on experience in a professional private club environment. This position assists with food preparation, kitchen organization, and service support to help ensure high-quality food production and efficient kitchen operations. The Cook Intern works closely with chefs and kitchen staff to develop foundational culinary skills while contributing to a consistent and exceptional dining experience for members and guests.
Responsibilities
- Assist chefs with daily food preparation and basic cooking tasks
- Prepare ingredients, including chopping, measuring, and portioning
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation standards
- Support kitchen staff during service periods
- Assist with banquet, event, and à la carte service preparation
- Learn plating, presentation, and professional kitchen operations
Requirements
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a culinary program preferred
- Passion for food and learning in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
